MARION COUNTY, Fla. – On Saturday afternoon, firefighters in Marion County successfully extinguished a house fire in Citra.

Images posted on social media by Marion County Fire Rescue depicted firefighters dousing the charred remnants of a home located in the 3100 block of NE 155th Place. Crews were dispatched around 4:43 p.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting that both the residence and an adjacent storage building were engulfed in flames.

Responders from Sparr Station #19 arrived on the scene just before 5 p.m., promptly followed by units from Fort McCoy Station #7, Anthony Station #1, and Villages Station #10. They quickly deployed hose lines and worked efficiently to put out the blaze, according to the social media post.

The post also noted that a large propane tank was venting itself while the fire threatened a nearby vehicle. Firefighters took immediate action to protect surrounding structures and the vehicle from damage.

By 5:06 p.m., the fire was brought under control, with no injuries reported among firefighters or civilians present. The agency mentioned that the American Red Cross was contacted to support the two-person family affected by the incident.
