Region 3-A Division II Basketball Quarterfinals Lineup Finalized

Metter, Ga. — Excitement is building for the Region 3-A Division II high school basketball quarterfinals, following an intense first round at Metter High School on Monday.

In the boys’ competition, Bryan County emerged victorious over Jenkins County with a score of 65-47, securing their spot in the next round. They will face off against Metter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Metter High School, with a coveted state tournament berth on the line.

All participating teams will return to the court on Tuesday, February 16, at Metter High School for the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, McIntosh County Academy triumphed over Claxton, winning 67-56 to advance. They are set to play against the reigning state champions, Savannah High, at 8:30 p.m. at Metter High School.

In the girls’ bracket, Claxton edged out Portal in a close match, winning 28-24. Claxton’s Jayda Jordan was a standout, scoring the first 13 points of the game for her team.

On the other side, Emanuel County defeated Jenkins County 50-23. Emanuel County will face McIntosh County Academy at 4 p.m.

Claxton will take on Screven County in the quarterfinals at 7 at Metter High School.
