OCOEE, Fla. – News 6 is uncovering new details about a woman in a stolen SUV who was shot and killed by an Ocoee police officer at a Publix parking lot Sunday.

On Monday afternoon, Ocoee police identified the driver as Stacie Guerrero and said she died after she was taken to a nearby hospital. According to police, they were investigating a stolen vehicle report when they found the silver BMW SUV near West Road and Ocoee Apopka Rd around 11:30 a.m.

When they approached Guerrero, she reportedly started driving toward two officers who were struck by the stolen vehicle. Police said that “in response to the immediate threat,” one of the officers shot Guerrero. Both officers are now on leave, which is standard while authorities investigate.

Officers with the Ocoee Police Department have not said much else about the incident, but News 6 obtained documents Monday that reveal Guerrero and another woman in that stolen SUV both went into the Publix before the shooting.

An arrest report for Andrea Barboza identifies her as a passenger in the BMW. It states that both women walked into the store and started filling up their own shopping carts.

Guerrero reportedly “caught the eye” of a store manager who recognized her from prior thefts, the report states. She noticed him following her and left the cart inside the store and returned to the BMW.

Surveillance cameras inside the Publix captured who police believe to be Barboza placing two 12-packs of Heineken, one pack of Corona, and two bags of dog food in her shopping cart. The report states she also concealed two bags of frozen shrimp, a pack of Bic lighters, and a spray bottle of cologne — a total value of $145.05 — in her purse before walking out of the store without checking out.

Barboza was stopped by an employee while pushing the cart out towards the BMW, the report states. She told a detective that her friend Stacie came to Publix, made her purchase, and she was “unaware of anything else,” according to the document.

Barboza’s arrest report makes no mention of the shooting that followed, and she was only booked on a charge of petit theft with two prior convictions. The arrest report notes her criminal history includes one in Florida in February 2025 and one in Ohio in 2001, and states she does have an active warrant out of Seminole County for theft.

Our News 6 team also looked into Guerrero’s criminal history and discovered she’s been arrested multiple times over the last three decades in Orange, Marion, Hillsborough, and Martin counties.

Online records show she last spent time in prison in 2015 for battery on a law enforcement officer. Documents detailing the case state she was charged after kicking and clawing at an Orange County deputy’s chest and arms.

Her past offenses also include multiple traffic infractions, including a case in 2021 when she drove away from Orange County deputies who spotted her in an SUV with a damaged taillight. According to court records, she ignored commands to pull over and reportedly explained that she “did not have a license and did not want to go to jail.”

Records on the Orange County Clerk of Courts website show she has several open or pending cases, including a warrant for fraud, forgery, and credit card theft.
