NAPLES, Fla. (WJW) — The 13-year-old step-grandson of Duane Chapman, better known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, was reportedly killed over the weekend in what’s been described as an accidental shooting at the hands of the boy’s father.
According to several media outlets, including People and the Naples Daily News, citing a weekend report from TMZ, Chapman’s stepson Gregory Zecca — the son of Chapman’s current wife, Francie — allegedly shot and killed his son Anthony at an apartment in Naples, Florida.
In a report over the weekend, the Naples Daily News reported that sheriff’s deputies in Collier County were investigating a shooting death at an apartment complex shortly after 8 p.m. on July 19. It was described as an “isolated incident.”
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Nexstar that its “detectives are conducting a thorough investigation looking into all the elements of this tragic incident.”
The Chapmans reportedly told TMZ, through a representative, “We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible, tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony.”
Chapman, best known for his long-running reality TV show “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” married Francie in 2021. Gregory Zecca is her son from a previous marriage.
Chapman’s previous wife, Beth Chapman, who famously starred alongside him on the show, died in 2019 at the age of 51.
