Authorities respond to suspicious death at Bon Air Apartments

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The Richmond County Sheriff Office responded to a suspicious death at the Bon Air Apartments on Tuesday.

Upon arriving to 2101 Walton Way on May 20, deputies located one deceased male inside an apartment. The individual, according to RCSO, was identified as 71-year-old Larry Laws.

The Richmond County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and pronounced Laws deceased at approximately 5:45 p.m.

According to police, Laws was discovered by his nephew, who contacted 911.

“Road Patrol deputies on scene requested the assistance of the Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Scene Unit due to the circumstances observed,” RCSO said in a statement. “The death is currently being classified as suspicious, pending the results of an autopsy.”

Due to the active investigation, no further information is being provided at this time, according to the sheriff’s office.
