SAVOY, Ill. (WCIA) — The kitchen at Accolade Healthcare of Savoy is back in operation as of Wednesday, following a temporary closure prompted by the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District’s issuance of a red placard last week.
The nursing facility’s kitchen was cited for storing hot food at temperatures below the required 135°F in its hot holding unit. According to both Accolade Healthcare and the health district, the food in question was not served to residents and was intended for disposal.
