ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The management company overseeing an apartment complex in Orange County, recently evacuated due to structural concerns, has announced plans to update residents on the process of lease terminations.

Residents of The Rialto apartments, located in the Dr. Phillips area, were informed through a letter on Wednesday that engineers assessing the structural problems require additional time to conclude their investigations.

“We understand that the prolonged timeline and ongoing uncertainty are both difficult and untenable for you,” the letter stated.

The management company committed to providing details on terminating leases and assisting residents in securing alternative housing.

They were also working on a plan to help residents get their belongings out of their apartments.

One week ago, Orange County fire crews were called to The Rialto on Sand Lake Road because residents heard cracking and popping noises, and the people in at least one apartment could not get their door to open.

The apartment building, which opened in 2014, was evacuated, and the businesses on the first floor of the building were also closed. No word on what will happen to those businesses.
