AUGUSTA, Ga. () – On Friday evening, the Richmond County Neighborhood Associations Alliance came together to host a heartwarming scholarship banquet.
This special event was organized to both support scholarship initiatives and celebrate the remarkable achievements of students in the community.
The theme for the evening was “Education is a path – not a destination.”
Richmond County Superintendent, Dr. Melinda Cobb, was the keynote speaker.
“This is our 27th scholarship banquet, and tonight, we will awarding 10 very deserving students $2,000 scholarships,” says Octavia Collins, the Richmond County Neighborhood Association President. “That’s for a total of $20,000 in scholarships to help them get started. People years ago didn’t have this opportunity so it is wonderful. I’m overjoyed. I’m grateful.”
