RINCON, Ga. — The City of Rincon has announced a State of Emergency due to severe cold weather and accumulating ice.
At about 1:20 p.m., city officials declared the emergency, citing hazardous conditions that significantly endanger public safety, transportation systems, infrastructure, and essential services.
Authorities report that ice build-up has created perilous driving conditions and led to power outages, heightening risks for the community’s most vulnerable residents.

The State of Emergency is set to conclude at noon on Monday, February 2.
