ORLANDO, Fla. – It’s no secret Central Florida needs some rain. Unfortunately, rain chances are limited at best over the next seven days.

On Wednesday, the dry ground and brush will combine with the breeze and lower relative humidity to increase the fire threat.

Relative humidity in the 30 – 40% range is considered to be a dry atmosphere. Relative humidity in the teens and 20s is an exceptionally dry atmosphere.

The breeze off the Atlantic Ocean on Wednesday will keep a little more moisture along and near the I-95 corridor, which will keep the fire threat slightly lower.

A stray, quick-hitting shower or downpour will be possible along and near I-75 on Wednesday evening. Most of Central Florida will stay dry through the start of the weekend.

Slight rain chances arrive Sunday into Monday.

Highs hover around 90 degrees for the bulk of the week ahead.
