AUGUSTA, Ga. ()- These students are a part of the United Methodist group at Virginia Tech.

Their efforts align with The Ryan Clark Scholarship fund.

Clark was a Lakeside High School graduate attending V-T when he was killed during the campus shooting in 2007.

This is their first time volunteering here in Augusta.

The founder of this scholarship and the mother of Ryan Clark says how she feels about the students being here.

“It does a Mama’s Heart. In 2005, Ryan went to New Orleans to help with Hurricane Katrina clean up. It was the first Thanksgiving he did not come home. So this is like a full circle event for me to have them come and help his mom’s hometown, come out and clean up and get us back to normal,” said Letitie Clark.

She will speak to the student volunteers at the worksites.
