Sea breeze storms drive Saturday’s forecast. Trending drier starting Sunday.

That collision could spark a more widespread round of storms across metro Orlando and the I-4 corridor during the latter half of the afternoon. With weak steering winds in place, thunderstorms may move slowly, raising the risk of localized flooding in low-lying areas. Activity should linger across Central Florida before diminishing between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

A ridge of high pressure is forecast to settle over Florida on Sunday, creating a somewhat more stable atmosphere and limiting afternoon sea-breeze storm development. Storms will still be possible, though coverage should return to a more typical scattered pattern along the sea breeze from shortly after lunchtime into midafternoon. High temperatures will reach the low to mid-90s.
