SAVANNAH, Ga. () — National Signing Day was a momentous occasion for local schools, as student-athletes from Savannah Christian, Windsor Forest, Jenkins, and Benedictine committed to furthering both their education and athletic careers.
At Savannah Christian, the gymnasium buzzed with excitement as the school honored four athletes who will be advancing to collegiate sports. This celebration marked a significant milestone for these students as they prepare to embark on this new chapter.
Meanwhile, Benedictine Military School proudly announced that two of its athletes have signed on to continue playing football at the collegiate level.
Joshua Washington, a safety, has committed to playing Division I football at the University of New Hampshire, while cornerback Jojo Johnson will take his talents to Johnson C. Smith.
In a historic moment for Windsor Forest, Jayden “JT” Thomas signed to play Division I football at South Carolina State, becoming the first athlete from his school to reach this level in over ten years.
Jenkins led the day with six players committing to play at the next level.
Joshua Woodely will be a kicker at Savannah State University. Offensive linemen Jasaiyah Boatright will go to Dodge City Community College. He will not be alone. His teammate Ahmontae Crawford will join him as well.
Also, linebacker Aujshawn Izzard will play at Johnson C. Smith. Athlete Dominique Johnson will play for the HBCU National Champions South Carolina State. Wide receiver slash cornerback Calvin Wallace heads to Wingate.
