No. 2 Savannah High gets revenge on no. 1 McIntosh County; highlights from big Tuesday in high school basketball

SAVANNAH, Ga. () — No. 2 Savannah High picked up its biggest win of the season with a 56-46 victory over McIntosh County Academy Tuesday.

The Bluejackets fell to the Buccaneers 48-47 in McIntosh County on Jan. 7 which remains their only Class A DII loss of the season.

Savannah High came out to a strong start in that game. The Bluejackets outscored McIntosh County 12-4 in the third quarter and went into the halftime locker room with a 10-point lead.

While the Buccaneers cut the deficit to five at the end of the third quarter, the Bluejackets scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to come out on top by 10.

Bluejackets Head Coach George Brown was excited with his team’s performance.

“We’re gonna try to use the momentum we got from this game and this atmosphere and we’re going to try to propel it,” he said. “Hopefully these guys understand the bigger picture because we’re trying to win the whole thing.”

Bradwell Institute also came out with a huge win Tuesday, they beat Statesboro in a tight one 55-48.

The win for the Tigers also had major implications within Class AAAAA Region 1. Before tonight, Bradwell Institute, Statesboro and Brunswick only had one loss, until the Tigers handed the Blue Devils its second on Tuesday.

Windsor Forest also came out with a big 72-61 win over Liberty County. Coming the matchup Windsor Forest ranked second in Class AAA Region 3, and Liberty County ranked third.

The first-place team in Class AAA Region 3 is Calvary Day. The Cavaliers dominated Jenkins Tuesday night 64-41 to improve to a perfect 11-0 in the region.
