SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Recent violent crime across the city has the Mayor of Savannah asking the community to help get criminals off the street.

The most recent Top 10 Most Wanted List has been released. One suspect, Destanii Coleman, has been arrested in the past week, according to Johnson.

It’s almost been a full year since the city started releasing the list. Johnson calls it a success, though one suspect in particular has been on the list since it was published.

Ricktavius Gilliard is wanted for aggravated assault and aggravated stalking. According to jail records, Gillard has a long list of former run-ins with the law.

Johnson recognizes many people listed have a criminal history.

“We have to talk about how people are bonded out and how they miraculously appear back into our criminal justice system on the violence side,” Johnson said.

Johnson believes these people can turn their lives around, but accountability is the first step.

“Lawyer up and come see us. We would much rather you come see us than us come see you,” Johnson said.

The mayor did highlight the fact that in 2024, violent crime went down 20 percent compared to 2023. So far in 2025, year to date, violent crime is up, according to the latest Savannah Police Department (SPD) weekly crime report.

Johnson says city council will continue to invest in public safety, but there’s only so much they can do.

“The reality is people have to make better decisions. There is a way we could deal with it, and that is that we just kind of shut everything down early. That way – we guarantee everybody be safe. That is not how we want to live. We’re not going to be terrorized by that,” Johnson said.

If you know any of the people on the Most Wanted List, you’re asked to call the anonymous tip line at 912-525-3124.

Johnson and the Advocates for Restorative Communities in Savannah (ARCS) Taskforce will host the third annual Welcome Home Celebration: A Second Chance at Success on Tuesday, April 29.

The event is designed to empower and support individuals impacted by the justice system as they navigate reentry into society.
