SAVANNAH. Ga. () — The City of Savannah and partners are making facilities available to help people stay cool as the heat index climbs, potentially hitting 109 degrees.
A heat advisory was issued by the National Weather Service for Tuesday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to take precaution by hydrating and avoiding strenuous activities outside if possible.
All cooling centers and pools are open on Tuesday as follows, according to the City of Savannah:
Community Centers:
- Tompkins Regional Center, 1 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Windsor Forest Regional Center, 1 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- W.W. Law Regional Center, 1 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- John S. Delaware Regional Center, 1 p.m. – 8 p.m.
City pool hours:
- Bowles C. Ford, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. & 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.
- Daffin, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. & 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.
- W.W. Law, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. & 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.
- Tompkins, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. & 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.
