SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A man has been arrested and charged in connection to a 2022 homicide of an Augusta man, police said on Wednesday.
Donzel Chambers, 34, was taken into custody Jan 14. and charged with murder, the Savannah Police Department (SPD) said. His charges are connected to the homicide of Diontae Roberson, officials report.

When Roberson was reported missing to police on Aug. 12, 2022, his disappearance was deemed suspicious and a criminal case was opened, police said.
On August 11th around noon, Diontae was last seen in the Tatemville neighborhood.
During a press conference held in September of 2022, Savannah P.D. said, “We believe that something happened to Diontae while he was here in Savannah, and it’s very possible that he’s deceased.”
His mother Kathleen, who lives here in Augusta, said she first realized something wasn’t right when Diontae missed his sister’s birthday.
Roberson’s remains were identified with the help of the FBI after they were found on Feb. 9, 2024, in a wooded area on Wild Heron Road.

Police determined his death to be a homicide.
