DAVIE, Fla. () — The Savannah State Men’s Basketball Team will compete in the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament Saturday.

Savannah State will take on Nova Southeastern University out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Nova Southeastern has polled No. 2 in the country at the Division II level.

The Tigers earned a bid after an impressive run to win the SIAC Championship earlier this month.

Savannah State defeated Spring Hill College 79-74 in round one of the SIAC tournament before upsetting top-ranked Miles College 63-61 in round two to advance to the championship.

The Tigers secured their bid to the Division II tournament after a tight 67-66 victory over Tuskegee in the SIAC Championship.

Tipoff for Savannah State vs. Nova Southeastern is set for Saturday, March 9 at 5 p.m. at Rick Case Arena in Davie, Florida.
