ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County deputies are searching for a man who tried to kidnap a woman at gunpoint about a week ago, according to the sheriff’s office.
Just after 10 a.m. Sunday, May 11, a woman walking her dog near Adanson Street and Lee Road noticed a gray Toyota 4Runner drive past her several times before it suddenly turned and blocked her path, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Friday on social media.
The driver allegedly pointed a handgun at the woman and ordered her to get in the SUV, but the woman ran and the suspect drove off, the post states.
Deputies later recovered the 4Runner, which had been stolen earlier that morning, according to the sheriff’s office. The suspect, who had been recorded on camera where the SUV was taken, was described as having black hair, an average build and potentially a tattoo on his left forearm, deputies said.
Anyone who recognizes the man or or has any information that could help identify him is urged to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, or Crimeline at 800-423-8477 to remain anonymous.
