ABINGDON, Va. (WJHL) – Last Wednesday, the Special Response Team (SRT) from the Washington County, VA Sheriff’s Office conducted a search operation in the Long Hollow vicinity, leading to the discovery of drugs and firearms.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) reported that during the search, officers uncovered methamphetamine, cocaine, and psilocybin, alongside cash and several firearms.

Following the completion of the search, authorities departed to secure felony warrants for Tommy Neil Fulton and Eva Christine Porter.

Shortly thereafter, the police were alerted to Fulton’s return to the property. Upon their arrival, Fulton allegedly ignored law enforcement’s presence and refused to leave the premises, as stated by the WCSO.

Consequently, a second set of search and arrest warrants was obtained, and SRT members, with the assistance of a K-9 unit, executed the operation. Fulton was apprehended after a brief standoff.

Tommy Neil Fulton, 49, of Abingdon, Va., was charged with:

  • 4 counts: Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance
  • Unlawfully possessing a controlled substance while possessing a firearm
  • 3 counts: Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Eva Christine Porter, 53 of Abingdon, Va., was charged with:

  • 3 counts: Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance
  • Unlawfully possessing a controlled substance while possessing a firearm

Fulton is being held without bond at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail. Porter was arrested on April 9 and is also being held without bond.
