A disturbing incident unfolded in Seminole, Florida, where a woman was taken into custody after allegedly threatening her husband with the ominous words, “I need to sacrifice and kill you both,” before attempting to stab him.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office received a call early Tuesday morning from a residence in Seminole, reporting an assault involving a husband allegedly stabbed by his wife.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the husband outside the residence, suffering from a cut on his left forearm.

The alleged assailant, identified as Karen Dedert, was located inside the house and was arrested without further complications.

According to the arrest affidavit, the victim recounted waking up around 5 a.m. to find Dedert standing over him and questioning, “Where is our son?”

When he questioned her, she said, “I need to sacrifice and kill you both,” and tried to stab him with a large knife, PCSO said.

The victim blocked the attack and disarmed Dedert before locking himself in a bedroom.

Around 7:45 a.m., the victim exited the room and briefly encountered Dedert before showering. When he exited the room again, Dedert ambushed him from behind the refrigerator and lunged with a knife, attempting to stab him in the abdomen, an arrest affidavit said.

As the victim was defending himself, he was cut on his left forearm.

While attempting to gain control of the weapon, Dedert repeatedly yelled, “I’m going to kill you.”

The victim managed to disarm Dedert and escaped the home to call 911.

According to the arrest affidavit, Dedert spontaneously stated at the conclusion of the call, “These aren’t the clothes I was wearing when I stabbed him.”

Dedert was arrested and charged with attempted murder in the first degree.
