PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WATE) — Fire crews in Sevier County responded to multiple brush fires that destroyed two structures.

At 4:17 a.m. on Wednesday, Sevier County Emergency Management Agency posted that all the evacuation orders had been lifted. However, they urged people to remain cautious as conditions could change quickly.

“Precipitation over the past couple of hours has helped improve weather conditions, reducing fire activity, but crews are still closely monitoring the fire near Pittman Center/Webb Mountain,” the agency posted around 4 a.m.

Sevier County Emergency Personnel are responding to a brush fire off of Bluff Mountain Road. People within the following roadways are asked to evacuate the area.

  • Tower Road
  • Green Top Road
  • Horse Gap Road
  • Ross Way

Firefighters are also responding to a 200-acre fire in the area of Pittman Center. People near the following locations should evacuate the area.

  • Hickey Road
  • Laurel Creek Road
  • Old Happy Hollow Road
  • Pinnacle Vista Road

The First Baptist Church Annex at 453 Court Avenue in Sevierville is open to assist evacuees.

The Bluff Mountain fire was estimated at 10-15 acres as of 11 p.m., according to the Sevier County Emergency Management Agency. Other individuals in the area of the fires should remain aware of fire and weather conditions.

Several active wildfires are burning across East Tennessee amid dry, windy conditions and low humidity. Several localities have implemented bans on open burning to try and reduce fire risk.
