BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. () – The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) announced Friday morning that it has arrested a teen wanted in connection with a shooting that claimed the life of a 14-year-old last week.
Just before midnight on Friday, July 18, 2025, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a report of a gunshot victim at a home on Capers Island Circle on St. Helena Island. The victim, a 14-year-old male, died as a result of the shooting despite lifesaving efforts.
Charles Jamirea Williams, 17, of St. Helena Island, was arrested Thursday. Williams was arrested on charges of murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Throughout the BCSO investigation, Williams was identified as the individual responsible. He remains in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
