KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Kingsport man was arrested Wednesday after a child pornography investigation, police report.

According to a news release from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), authorities received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding images of suspected child sexual abuse material that were uploaded online.

Investigators reviewed evidence and determined that 49 files contained graphic and illegal content involving minors, the SCSO reported.

Information provided by the tip and obtained from an internet service led investigators to Brandon Scott Overbay, 42, of Kingsport, the sheriff’s office stated.

A search warrant was conducted at Overbay’s Thomas Acres Road home on Wednesday.

Overbay was then arrested and charged with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

The SCSO stated Overbay was released on Thursday after posting a $20,000 bond.
