Glynn County Police officer arrested, charged with disorderly conduct

An officer from the Glynn County Police Department has been suspended without pay following his arrest on Thursday afternoon, according to local authorities.

The incident unfolded at the Odyssey Lake apartment complex around 4:10 p.m., when police responded to a report of property damage. Upon arrival, the officers realized that one of their own colleagues was involved, according to a spokesperson from the department.

Officer Johnell Leggett, aged 25, was subsequently arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. The department’s Major Crimes Unit was called in to investigate the situation further, and Leggett was taken into custody and transported to the Glynn County jail.

The Glynn County Police Department announced that Leggett has been placed on administrative leave without pay as the criminal investigation proceeds. Additionally, the department’s Office of Professional Standards and Accountability will be conducting its own inquiry into his conduct.
