In Washington County, Virginia, a woman from Meadowview faces charges following an inquiry into a local childcare center.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office announced that 44-year-old Felicia Ann Martin has been arrested on charges of simple assault and contributing to the delinquency or abuse of a child.
Authorities apprehended Martin after a month-long probe into allegations of child abuse at the childcare facility. This investigation was triggered on March 6 after Child Protective Services reached out to law enforcement.
With the information provided by CPS, the sheriff’s office conducted a thorough investigation, which resulted in the issuance of warrants.
Martin underwent a hearing before a magistrate and was initially held on a $5,000 bond. She has since been released, according to the sheriff’s office.
As of Friday, the investigation remains active and ongoing, and the sheriff’s office asks anyone with additional information to contact investigators.
