Decatur, Ill. (WCIA) — In a significant development, authorities in Decatur apprehended a 15-year-old on Wednesday evening, linking him to the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Tevon Beasley, which occurred last month.

The incident unfolded on October 24 when Decatur Police were called to a business on E. Wood Street following reports of gunfire and a wounded individual. Upon arrival, officers discovered Beasley suffering from at least one bullet wound. He was swiftly transported to the Decatur Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

As part of their ongoing investigation, Decatur Police previously detained 19-year-old Nehemiah T. Meyers on charges of first-degree murder. Meyers is currently held at the Macon County Jail, having entered a plea of not guilty.
