In a significant shift for television programming, MTV has decided to pull the plug on “Ridiculousness,” one of its most infamous and enduring shows. Sources told Nexstar’s KTLA on Friday that the show will cease production of new episodes as of this Halloween.

Although the production of fresh content is coming to an end, fans of the series can still enjoy a steady stream of previously produced episodes, which will continue to air through the end of the 2026 season.

Since its debut on August 29, 2011, “Ridiculousness” has become a staple of MTV, airing across an impressive 46 seasons. Known for its comedic take on viral internet videos, the show is hosted by Rob Dyrdek, who, along with his co-hosts and guests, provides humorous commentary on the absurd clips.

TMZ broke the news earlier on Friday, revealing that the decision to cancel the show was made by the network’s senior executives. This decision was communicated to the cast and crew this week, marking the end of an era for MTV’s programming lineup.

Sources told KTLA that as the company works to reimagine MTV for the future, the channel aims to feature more experimental ideas exploring fresh formats, different creative voices, and refreshed programming.

Previous seasons of all produced episodes are said to continue airing on MTV, and select seasons will continue to stream on Paramount+.
