KSP: Husband, wife shot off of Highway 421 in Harlan County, Kentucky during domestic dispute

CRANKS, Ky. (WATE) — Two people were shot off of Highway 421 in Harlan County, Kentucky Sunday morning, according to Kentucky State Police (KSP).

The shooting occurred at approximately 11:00 a.m. in the Cranks community in Harlan County, police said.

“This incident resulted from a domestic dispute between a husband and wife,” a post by KSP said. “Both individuals sustained gunshot wounds after pulling their vehicle off the roadway on Highway 421. They were both transported to Harlan ARH for treatment, but their conditions remain unknown at this time.

“We want to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community. Kentucky State Police (KSP) are still on the scene investigating.
We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.”
