During the event, Champaign County residents can drop off items including:

  • TVs
  • Computers
  • Monitors (all types)
  • DVD players/recorders
  • Video game consoles
  • Microwaves

Click here for a full list of accepted items. Some items that will not be accepted include wooden stereo speakers or speaker cabinets, CDs, DVDs, AC units, dehumidifiers and refrigerators. There will be a limit of four TVs per household and a limit of seven items total.

Anyone wishing to attend the event needs to register online in advance. Residents can then reserve a 15-minute time slot for the date of the event. After reserving a time, residents will receive a confirmation email or text. Then, between 10-14 days before the event, residents will receive a postcard in the mail which will be their “ticket” into the event.

On the morning of the event, use the Duncan Road Entrance into Parkland. Then, follow the red signs. A map will also be provided on your postcard. Organizers said the event will take place rain or shine.

If you need help registering for the event, call Champaign’s Environmental Sustainability Specialist, Nichole Millage, at 1-217-403-4780 or email recycling@champaignil.gov. Online registration will remain open until all the 15-minute time slots are full.
