Richmond County makes major drug bust at local hotel

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged a major alleged drug trafficker at a local hotel.

On Tuesday, the Narcotics Division arrested 45-year-old Roman Kelly at the Quality Inn on Gordon Highway. Kelly was reportedly found carrying approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine.

This arrest came after a months-long investigation into the drug-trafficking operation.

Investigators found the following inside his hotel room:

  • Trafficking in Fentanyl

He is being held at the Webster Detention Center.
