AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. — A confrontation at Silver Bluff High School escalated into a physical altercation on Thursday, February 26, involving the school’s soccer coach, Patrick Casper, and a custodian.
The incident drew a swift response from law enforcement and prompted an immediate investigation by Aiken County Schools.
As part of the investigation, the custodian was placed on administrative leave. Casper, who is not a full-time employee but works in a supplemental capacity, was relieved of his coaching responsibilities.
The thorough investigation involved reviewing multiple video recordings, conducting interviews with those involved and witnesses, and examining the law enforcement report.
Following the investigation’s conclusions, the school district decided to terminate Casper’s role as coach, and the custodian chose to resign from their position.
Additionally, law enforcement investigated the matter and did not bring criminal charges against anyone involved in the incident.
