SC man found guilty in relation to 2023 hotel fatal shooting

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – A South Carolina man was found guilty in relation to the fatal shooting at a hotel in January of 2023.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, Richard Moore, 42, of Silverstreet, S.C., was found guilty in relation of the fatal shooting of Barry Lew, 62, of Augusta.

Authorities state that the incident happened January 8th, 2023 at the Suburban Inn located off of Claussen Road.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, Moore was found guilty of three counts of Felony Murder, and one count each of Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony and Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to Life In Prison without parole followed by an additional 15 years for the firearms charges.

The D.A.’s Office also states that the co-defendant, Demorea Wallace, who was 22 years old at the time with no criminal history, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault and was sentenced to 10 years with the first two served in confinement.
