SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Authorities in Savannah have apprehended a suspect linked to a shooting incident on Louisville Road.
Responding to a ShotsSpotter alert on Friday, officers arrived at the 1000 block of Louisville Road, where they encountered a man departing the vicinity.
The individual, who had sustained a superficial graze wound on his arm, informed the police that he was unfamiliar with the shooter. Emergency medical services treated him on the scene, although he declined further hospital care.
The man has been identified as Alvin DuBois.
Eyewitnesses recounted that DuBois was seen attacking a woman, prompting her to shoot him in self-defense, according to officials.
The woman later called 911 to report the incident. An investigation later showed that the woman and DuBois were involved in a relationship, and that the shooting was in self-defense.
DuBois was arrested and charged with battery.
