SAVANNAH, Ga. — The weather in Savannah is offering a taste of spring this week, with temperatures expected to climb even higher from Wednesday through Saturday.


Tuesday began with a chilly start, as temperatures dipped into the 30s. However, the afternoon brought a delightful warmth, with highs reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s under mostly sunny skies. As the day progressed, clouds started to gather, setting the stage for an overcast night.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, residents can anticipate another balmy day despite the thickening cloud cover. The mercury is set to rise into the mid to upper 70s, and while it will remain dry, expect occasional breezy spells with wind gusts reaching up to 20 mph.
As the week progresses, Thursday and Friday promise to push temperatures even higher, nearing record levels for this season. Both days are forecasted to see highs soar into the lower 80s, marking an unusually warm spell for this time of year.
Thursday and Friday will feature afternoon high temperatures that will be getting close to the records for this time of the year. Both days will warm into the lower 80s.
There is a chance that a few locations may warm into the mid 80s.

A storm system will start to move toward the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry on Friday. A few passing showers are possible in the afternoon.
However, higher rain chances will be with us Saturday and into Sunday.

Saturday afternoon will be very warm and humid. Afternoon high temperatures will be in the lower 80s despite showers and a few storms with us on and off throughout the day.
Showers and isolated storms will continue into Sunday. A strong westerly to northwest breeze will develop in the afternoon as a cold front moves into the southeast.
Wind gusts will be over 20 mph at times.


Colder air will filter back into the southeast for Sunday and into early next week. High temperatures on Sunday will be in the lower 60s.
Overnight low temperatures into Monday morning will fall into the lower to middle 30s with highs just in the 50s.
Similar conditions are expected for Tuesday with morning lows just above freezing. Though afternoon highs will begin to rebound into the upper 50s to lower 60s.
Much warmer afternoons are expected to set up again for the middle to later part of next week. Afternoon highs are forecast to be back into the 70s.
