Crime Stoppers seeking tips after victim's head slammed against bus window in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The Springfield Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Sangamon and Menard Counties are teaming up to solve an aggravated battery that happened last month.

Crime Stoppers said on Aug. 15, a victim was riding the bus in the area of N Wolfe Street and E Keys Avenue. Around 10 p.m., a suspect boarded the bus, went up to the victim and began kicking him in the head and slamming his head into the window of the bus.

The suspect was described as a mixed male, Crime Stoppers said. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a green shirt.

Anyone with more information about this incident or the suspect should call Crime Stoppers at 217-788-8427, submit a tip on their website or use the P3 app. Crime Stoppers reminds the community that tipsters are always anonymous and tips that lead to an arrest could earn you up to $2,500.
