The Springfield Police Department has issued a cautionary alert to the community following a series of deceptive donation requests that surfaced in October. The warning comes after multiple reports of individuals engaging in fraudulent activities in the area.

According to the police, on October 16, a group of men solicited donations under the guise of supporting the Boys and Girls Club. They approached residents, requesting credit card contributions, only to later charge sums far exceeding the agreed amounts.
