AUGUSTA, Ga. ()- A grand opening will be held today for Standard Aero.

It’s for the expansion of a new hangar and customer support facility.

StandardAero’s current hangar is meant to handle smaller aircrafts

But the new hangar allows bigger aircraft companies to come.

The new customer support facility has a need for more workers, opening up more jobs for the community.

“They have recently built a additional hangar that approximately 83,000 square feet, and that will bring an additional 82 to 100 employees to the area. We are so excited to have them grow here,” said Augusta Regional Airport’s Deputy Executive Director, Lauren Smith.

She also said this will boost business opportunities for Augusta Regional Airport.

“It increases our business development out here at the airport. We have several parcels that we are trying to expand our business opportunities and this is one step in that direction. We are excited to see them expand. They are a great asset to the community.”

The grand opening starts at 11am.
