SAVANNAH, Ga. — As Monday morning unfolds, residents can anticipate a blend of cool temperatures and lingering fog, setting the stage for a warm spell as Thanksgiving approaches.

On Sunday, early fog blanketed some areas, but it soon lifted to reveal a predominantly sunny and warm afternoon, although slightly cooler than the previous day.

Monday will kick off with a cool atmosphere, light breezes, and muggy conditions conducive to the formation of dense fog in certain locations. This fog is expected to clear by around 9 a.m., giving way to a mostly sunny and mild day, with temperatures rising to the low to mid-70s, slightly above the seasonal average.

As the week progresses, temperatures will rise again. Tuesday will see a warm front sweeping through the region, ushering in warm and humid air. There’s a 20% chance of brief showers from Tuesday into the evening.

Rain chances will peak on Wednesday ahead of an incoming cold front, with about a 30% likelihood of precipitation. While the rain isn’t expected to be significant enough to alleviate drought conditions, some storms might produce strong winds. Although severe weather is not anticipated, the widespread nature of the storm system could disrupt travel in parts of the Deep South, Midwest, and Northeast.

Thanksgiving Day itself will be a much cooler day. Morning clouds and temperatures in the 40s will give way to a mainly sunny afternoon in the 60s. Black Friday will feature a very cold start and temperatures in the upper-50s to lower-60s.
