SAVANNAH, Ga. () – Mayor Van Johnson released a statement Saturday afternoon following a Friday night that saw three people killed in three separate shootings.

Mayor Johnson posted on his Facebook account the following message:

“It was a long and difficult night as our community experienced 3 shooting incidents resulting in homicides at 56th and Salvador Streets, 37th and Bulloch Street, and the 1800 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

While these incidents appear unrelated and not random at this time, the Savannah Police Department is actively investigating. If you have any information, please contact Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or submit a tip through the SPD Mobile App.

My sincere gratitude to the Savannah Police Department for their dedication and tireless work through the night and into the morning to bring resolution and accountability for these unacceptable acts of violence.”
