STATESBORO, Ga. — Residents in Statesboro are experiencing water shortages in the vicinity of Highway 80, stretching between Beasley Road and Pretoria Rushing Road, according to a recent announcement by the City of Statesboro.
The disruption stems from a damaged water main located near McCook’s Pharmacy along Highway 80 East. The damage was caused by a private contractor.
These outages are expected to continue until repairs are completed. Residents with inquiries about the service interruptions are encouraged to contact 912-764-0693.
Following the restoration of water service, customers might notice discolored water. It is advised to flush cold water lines once service resumes.
The city suggests, “If you can, begin the flushing process with an outdoor spigot or a faucet that lacks a screen. Let the water run until it becomes clear. Start with the lowest floor of your property, turning on each faucet one by one until the water appears clear. Repeat this on higher floors. Additionally, be sure to flush refrigerator water lines as well.”
Please avoid using discolored water for laundry, as it may stain clothing.”
