SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Prepare for another bitterly cold night as icy roads could pose challenges for Monday morning commuters.

A Cold Weather Advisory is in place from Sunday night through Monday morning, with wind chill values expected to plunge into the teens. It’s crucial to stay warm and remember the Four P’s amid another hard freeze.

Temperatures are forecasted to drop into the upper teens to low 20s throughout the region, with a gentle northwesterly breeze adding to the chill factor.

Any residual moisture on roads may freeze again overnight, creating potential black ice hazards. If you’re traveling early in the morning, exercise caution, especially if you’re near or north of I-16.

Expect a warmer Monday afternoon as temperatures rise into the 40s. Ample sunshine will aid in melting morning ice and drying the area, reducing the likelihood of similar issues on Tuesday morning.

Tuesday morning brings another hard freeze, especially west of I-95. The day itself will be another notch warmer with highs in the upper 50s for a lot of the area.

We get a break from freezing mornings on Wednesday and Thursday. However, we will have more clouds and scattered showers with a storm system moving through the region.

Wednesday will feature the highest rain chances, and lingering showers are possible into Thursday morning.

Thursday will have stubborn cloud cover and chilly highs only in the lower 50s.

A return to more seasonal weather takes place for the end of the week and next weekend. Friday morning will be the lone exception with a freezing start.
