MONTICELLO, Ill. (WCIA) — After one season of Big Ten softball at Illinois, Monticello grad Lizzie Stiverson is taking her talents to Charleston.

Stiverson reunites with her head coaches at Parkland, Dan and Kristi Paulson.

A pair of her Cobra teammates, Lexie Griffin and Alisha Frederick, are also on the Panthers roster.

After starting 15 games for the Illini and two seasons at Parkland, Stiverson hopes to impart what she’s learned about college softball to her younger EIU teammates.

“I’m going to be a senior now, so really got to step up with the leadership,” Stiverson said. “I’ve got to bring a high intensity to the game and just share my knowledge, especially with the underclassmen.”

EIU is coming off a second-straight OVC regular season title with two appearances at the NCAA tournament in three seasons.
