SAVANNAH, Ga. — Savannah residents can look forward to a balmy weekend before a significant cold front sweeps in next week.
The region has been enjoying warm weather as high-pressure conditions persist. Friday night through Saturday morning will continue this trend, with temperatures dropping only into the 50s, offering a mild start to the weekend.
On Saturday, the mercury is set to soar, flirting with the record high of 80°F established in 2015. Sunday will see a slight dip in temperatures as more clouds roll in and southeast winds from the Atlantic Ocean bring cooler air. Despite the cloud cover, the weekend will largely remain dry, with only a few isolated showers anticipated.
Monday will maintain the mild conditions, with a chance of occasional showers ahead of an impending cold front expected by the afternoon. Once this front passes, noticeably colder weather will descend upon the area, marking the end of 2025 with a frigid note.
Tuesday morning will greet residents with temperatures near freezing, coupled with winds that will make it feel even colder. Afternoon highs will struggle to climb to 50°F. The bracing cold will intensify by Wednesday morning, with lows plunging into the 20s and wind chills potentially dipping into the teens.
New Year’s Eve will be a cool day followed by another cold night as a cold pattern will be locked in for the week. Remember to protect the Four P’s as there will be multiple freezing nights, including a hard freeze for most inland areas.
