SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Following a weekend marked by rain and strong winds, Monday ushered in clear skies and a chill in the air. Expect a sharp drop in temperatures overnight into Tuesday, with lows plunging well below freezing.

By Tuesday morning, temperatures are anticipated to dip into the low to mid-20s. A gentle breeze will add to the chill, making it feel like it’s in the lower 20s.
As the growing season resumes, evidenced by the rising pollen levels in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry, it’s important to safeguard tender plants from the cold.
Despite the sunny skies on Tuesday afternoon, the chill will persist. High temperatures will only reach the low to mid-50s, with some areas potentially struggling to get out of the upper 40s.

By Wednesday, a shift in the weather pattern will bring warmer conditions, thanks to a southerly breeze. Morning lows will start in the 30s, but by afternoon, temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Thursday and Friday will be even warmer with highs back into the lower 70s. A system will also bring with it the chance for some showers and storms.

Rain showers will start to set up late Thursday and will continue into Friday. A few lingering showers will remain for Saturday. Conditions will be breezy and gusty. Sustained wind will be 15-20 mph with gusts over 25 mph.
Rainfall totals between Thursday and Saturday will be about 0.50″ – 1.00″, which will be beneficial. Savannah is 2.98″ below normal rainfall for 2026, receiving only 2.59″ so far.
While Saturday will be slightly cooler with afternoon highs in the 60s, conditions overall will remain warm with the 70s returning for Sunday and next Monday.
