SAVANNAH, Ga. () – Temperatures will continue to rise over the weekend, with highs inching closer to 90°F both Saturday and Sunday. Humidity will also increase across the region, bringing a slight chance of a few passing showers each afternoon.
As we head into the workweek, temperatures will remain steady in the upper 80s to low 90s. Monday marks the autumnal equinox at 2:19 PM… the official start of fall, when day and night are nearly equal in length. Monday will also be the coolest day of the week, bringing a brief taste of fall like weather.
The 90s make a return later in the week, along with increasing rain chances. We’re tracking only a few stray showers from Monday through Wednesday, with more isolated showers possible Thursday and Friday as a cold front approaches from the west. Either way, we’re continuing to see mostly quiet weather across the region!
As for the tropics, Gabrielle is expected to strengthen into a hurricane by tomorrow, but it’s forecast to turn eastward and remain a fish storm, posing no threat to the U.S.
Meanwhile, an area of interest trailing Gabrielle has been given a 20% chance of development over the next week. However, given its proximity to Gabrielle, significant development in that region seems unlikely at this time.
