SAVANNAH, Ga. – Over recent days, rainfall across the area has accumulated to around 1 to 3 inches, offering much-needed relief to drought conditions. Although today will see scattered showers, the weather will remain overcast and chilly, with temperatures peaking in the low to mid-50s. While not as wet as yesterday, the dreariness persists, especially south of I-16 and along the coast due to a stationary front lingering in those areas.
Looking ahead to Monday, a cold front is expected to sweep through, finally nudging the low-pressure system and the stationary front away from the coast. This change will bring some isolated showers and lingering clouds, but we can anticipate drying out by Tuesday.
As we move into Monday night and Tuesday, a significant drop in temperature is on the horizon. Overnight lows are predicted to dip below freezing region-wide, with daytime highs on Tuesday struggling to climb beyond the upper 40s to low 50s. Despite the chill, the weather will remain dry. This pattern continues into Wednesday, with morning temperatures hovering near freezing but warming up to the lower 60s by the afternoon.
Further into the week, a new system is set to arrive on Friday, introducing a weak cold front accompanied by a few isolated showers. Following this, cooler and drier conditions will return on Saturday, with temperatures expected to drop back into the mid-50s.
