SAVANNAH, Ga. – This morning, temperatures have finally risen above freezing, settling in the 30s and 40s. While the afternoon will see an increase in cloudiness, it will still be comfortably mild, with temperatures climbing to the low to mid-60s.

Tonight promises to be less frigid and rather mild, with overnight temperatures dipping only into the lower 50s, thanks to the cloud cover brought by the approaching weather system. Tomorrow, as a warm front advances, expect temperatures to soar into the upper 60s and lower 70s, although scattered showers will be a factor throughout the day.

These showers could persist into early Friday morning before a cold front makes its way through. Friday will be breezy and slightly cooler, yet temperatures will remain around average, peaking in the mid-60s. Following the front, lows will descend into the 30s Friday night, but freezing conditions aren’t anticipated.

As high pressure moves in for the weekend, Saturday will bring sunny and seasonable weather. Sunday, marking the official start of winter, is set to be sunny and warm, with highs reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s. Looking forward, the Climate Prediction Center suggests that the southern region is likely to experience above-average temperatures as the holiday approaches next Wednesday and Thursday.
