SAVANNAH, Ga () – Good morning, StormTeam 3 Meteorologist Alysa Carsley here – let’s have a fabulous Monday!

WORK WEEK WHAT’S UP

  • Elevated high tides through Wednesday
    • Moderate coastal flooding possible Tuesday & Wednesday
  • Cold front arrives Thursday with scattered storms
  • Temperatures cool into the 70s by the weekend
  • Tropics: TS. Jerry possible by end of week/weekend – No threat to us (we’ll keep monitoring it)

A very sleepy Monday to kick off this new work week. While we might see an occasional peek of sun this evening, overall it will remain overcast. However, even with the cloud cover, temperatures remain around to just above average in the mid 80s. Off and on showers will be possible today, just like yesterday.

Our set up remains the same as the last few days. High pressure will be to our northeast driving in the breezy (& persistent) with a trough across the gulf coast states locking in the moisture. This gradually breaks down through midweek as a cold front approaches the area Thursday.

Ahead of the front, this persistent wind combined with the full moon peaking tonight will keep high tide levels elevated. Today’s high tide levels are expected to reach minor flood stage. A coastal flood advisory has been issued through 10 am.

Tuesday and Wednesday’s high tides could reach moderate flood stage (10′). This could lead to water on the road. We will closely watch this over the next few days.

Behind the front, sunshine returns with comfortable temperatures in the 70s in the afternoon and 50s for morning lows.
