SAVANNAH, Ga () – Good morning, everyone! This is StormTeam 3 Meteorologist Alysa Carsley, wishing you a terrific Tuesday!

This Tuesday began with a sharp chill in the air as temperatures plummeted to the mid-20s. Savannah’s early morning low nearly matched the record of 25° set back in 1989.

Throughout the day, expect crisp sunshine to beam down, though temperatures will remain cooler than usual, peaking in the mid-50s. The winds won’t be as brisk today, offering a slight reprieve from the gustiness of the past two days.

However, this calm is short-lived. By tomorrow, the winds are expected to make a return, potentially reaching gusts of up to 20 mph. Wednesday morning will start off just above freezing, with a partly cloudy sky. As the day progresses, a mix of sun and clouds will prevail, and temperatures will rise to more seasonal levels, ranging from the mid to upper 60s.

Looking ahead to Thursday, a cold front will stall to our west, bringing with it the possibility of isolated showers throughout the day. As a low-pressure system moves along this stationary front, rain is likely to become more widespread.

Rain could be heavy at times, with rainfall totals up to 1″ overall. Rain could linger into the day on Saturday.

We dry out through the weekend with temperatures remaining just above average in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
